MDR is a Chrome extension that displays and edits markdown files on your computer. It is published by Bscale Labs.

Data MDR handles

MDR reads the markdown files you open, along with the images and linked files next to them, so it can show them in your browser. When you edit, it writes your changes back to those files.

MDR keeps the following on your device, in Chrome's extension storage:

  • your reading settings: theme, font, text size and page width
  • view state for each file: scroll position, folded sections and a list of recent files
  • earlier versions of files you edited, so you can restore them

Data MDR does not collect

MDR has no servers and no accounts. It does not send your files, your edits, your settings or any usage data anywhere, and it contains no analytics or tracking.

If a document embeds an image from a web address, Chrome loads that image the same way any web page would.

Removing your data

Uninstalling MDR deletes everything it stored. Your markdown files stay where they are.
